Online Coupon Secrets: Are You Allowed To Combine Online Coupons?

Different businesses have different rules when it comes to combining certain coupons in order to avail of additional savings on any product. Some companies have no objections to this practice and in fact they go so far as to encourage it whereas other companies do not allow this at all. Most online businesses frown upon this practice of coupon combining. If you intend using coupons for purchasing anything online it is always a good idea to check out the rules of that particular site.

The concept of combining coupons is easy to comprehend. It simply involves using multiple coupons at the same time to buy any one product. If for instance you have two coupons; one of them giving you $0.20 off and the second one giving you $0.15 off, most stores will allow you to use only one coupon against any one item that you want to buy. Most people of course use the most valuable coupon against the purchase. Some stores however will allow you to combine both the coupons and give you a total of $0.35 off the product you intend to buy. Other stores will give you a discount that is equal to only half of the value of the coupon.

It is easy to combine coupons when buying from an online store. All you need to do is use one coupon code at the check out and then subsequently add the second one to it. Sometimes, at the checkout counter a code is entered after clicking on an embedded coupon.

You should keep in mind however that many times you will not be allowed to use online coupons in this manner. The main reason is that stores feel that excessive use of coupons defeats the very purpose of employing coupons for getting more business. Several businesses feel that the coupon system is often abused by people who try to get much lower discounts than what a single coupon offers.

Some stores allow only 50% off the purchase price of any item on sale and the customer can use several coupons to avail of the discount. Other stores allow one single couple per shipping address or per customer.

Several times during the year, especially at those times when sales are slow, companies usually relax their policies and allow customers to use several coupons on individual items. They believe that some sale is better than none at all. However, you can expect that they would certainly put the stricter policies back in place during the busy months of the year, such as Christmas and other holidays.

If you have a whole bunch of online coupons, make sure you know all the rules governing online coupons so that you do not encounter any problems when you go to buy something. If there is a certain online store that you wish to buy things from, keeping a track of how it functions will help you determine how best you should use the coupons that you have.
